Elder Care
Home care assistance through the Community Care Program.
Elderly home care assistance is one part of the Vietnamese Association of Illinois' Community Care Program. The Chicago organization was incorporated in 1976 to support Southeast Asian refugees, particularly Vietnamese people resettling in Uptown and across the city. Its current programs include adult education with language learning support, community organizing, immigration and public benefit assistance, and after-school and summer activities for children. The association also hosts cultural celebrations, workshops, and gatherings that bring community members together. Its work has expanded over time to address changing needs among Vietnamese Americans and the broader community. Advocacy includes political education, community organizing, and voter mobilization, alongside efforts to honor Vietnamese cultural heritage and work with other communities of color.
