About Metro Achievement Center

A Chicago youth achievement center, Midtown Achievement Center provides enrichment programs for girls. It is part of Midtown-Metro Achievement Centers, which guides low-income urban youth along pathways of success. Programs combine academic tutoring with mentorship, virtue development, individual attention, and parental involvement. Students receive support in academic excellence and character formation, with an emphasis on diligence in work and study. The centers serve students regardless of religious, racial, ethnic, or familial status. Metro for Girls is one of the organization's programs, alongside Midtown for Boys. The centers have operated since 1965 and 1985, respectively, and report providing more than 14.5 million hours of academic tutoring and virtue development to nearly 22,000 students. The organization also offers program applications and interest forms.
