Housing Authority of Cook County

In Chicago, the Housing Authority of Cook County is a public housing authority serving 108 suburban Cook County communities. It provides low-income public housing, rental assistance, and affordable multi-family housing through programs including Project Based Voucher, Community Choice, Family Self-Sufficiency, and Homeownership. The authority manages more than 2,100 owned low-income housing units and serves over 13,000 families, seniors, and people with disabilities through its Rental Assistance Division. Applicants can join property waitlists, receive alerts about openings, and access resident documents and portal services. Resources are also available for landlords and municipalities. The authority supports more than 15,000 households and holds board and committee meetings throughout the year.
