Chicago Poster Restoration

Located in Chicago, this art restoration business specializes in conserving, restoring, and linen backing vintage, antique, and collectible posters. It works with original movie posters, war propaganda, circus posters, advertising, and other paper-based posters for collectors, dealers, and institutional collections. Services address dirt, stains, tape, rips, tears, fold lines, and missing paper, with cleaning, touch-up, and tape removal among the restoration work offered. Linen backing mounts posters on acid-free paper and artist-grade cotton canvas to help stabilize them and protect against future damage. Additional services include relining, bleaching, deacidification, and encapsulation in archival Mylar. Processes and materials are described as archival and reversible. The business provides estimates and answers questions about poster conservation and restoration needs.
