Recorded Conversations
Captures meaningful conversations about people's lives and experiences
StoryCorps records meaningful conversations and preserves personal stories from everyday Americans. Since 2003, it has helped more than 750,000 people have conversations about their lives, with recordings collected by the U.S. Library of Congress and in an online archive. The nonprofit shares selected stories through weekly broadcasts, a podcast, animated shorts, digital platforms, and books. Its programs include the Mobile Tour, which records stories across the country; the Military Voices Initiative, focused on veterans, service members, and military families; and One Small Step, which brings people with different political views together for conversation. Brightness in Black shares Black stories and counters harmful narratives. StoryCorps is based in Brooklyn.
