Dakota Rural Action

Dakota Rural Action organizes South Dakotans around practical issues affecting rural communities. Its work includes building a local food system that supports producers and connects consumers with food grown and sold directly by producers, as well as supporting family farms and working on livestock reform. The organization also brings residents together around clean, renewable, locally sourced energy. It publishes a statewide local foods directory and holds member gatherings and annual meetings. Based in Brookings, Dakota Rural Action works with people from across South Dakota on rural vitality, food systems, farms, and energy.
