Mousel's Mixed Martial Arts Academy

A women's self-defense course covers avoiding confrontations, escaping grabs and holds, and responding to strikes. The Houston academy offers martial arts training for people with varied goals, including self-defense, competition, fitness, and recreation. Its programs include Muay Thai, mixed martial arts, Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Filipino martial arts, and Combat Submission Wrestling. Training is available to beginners as well as professional fighters. The academy was opened in 1990 by Tim Mousel, who holds instructor credentials in several disciplines, including Muay Thai, Filipino martial arts, and Jun Fan Gung-Fu. The site also features a video of a women's self-defense class held at Sam Houston State University, with instruction on ground escapes and protecting yourself and loved ones.
