Visitors can stroll the grounds or enjoy a picnic while learning about the home and the Smoot family. The grounds are open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., excluding public holidays. Tours inside the home are available by appointment. Flower Hill Center is an urban homestead museum preserving and cultivating Austin culture since 1877. Its specialty is the history of the home and the Smoot family. The museum is located at 1316 W. 6th Street in Austin, a few blocks west of the Lamar and W. 6th intersection. ADA parking is available on the grounds; street parking and a paid lot nearby are other options. Buses 4 and 663 stop at Cap Metro's 6th and Pressler stop, and bike riders are welcome.
