About Design Austin
Based in Austin, Design Austin is the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, a professional association serving architects, associate members, and allied companies in the region. It advocates for the architecture profession and members, and works to influence public opinion and policies affecting the built and natural environment. Members and other interested individuals can participate in committees focused on topics such as housing, mobility, climate response, education, and urban design. The chapter develops programs and services through these committees, which also provide avenues for discussion, advocacy, and policy work. Events include meetings, exhibitions, a homes tour, and design awards. AIA Austin also supports career development and keeps members and the public informed about architecture and design in the region.
