Public art
Supports local artists through public art across the district.
Northwest Aurora's Aurora Cultural Arts District is a creative district supported through a partnership between the City of Aurora and the Creative Alliance of Downtown Aurora. It brings together arts venues and community spaces, including the Aurora Fox Arts Center, The People's Building, the Hornbein Building, Fletcher Plaza, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Library. The district supports local artists and cultural development through public art and district-wide events. It also invites submissions for arts and culture events taking place in Ward 1, though submitting an event does not guarantee approval. Its expanded boundaries connect the historic East Colfax arts corridor with creative businesses and gathering spaces including Stanley Marketplace, Second Dawn Brewing, and Central Park Collective.
