About First Discovery Academy
Located in Virginia Beach, First Discovery Academy is a preschool and daycare for young children. Its STREAMin 3® curriculum uses monthly themes and hands-on, play-based activities. Teachers observe children's emerging skills and use assessments to shape personalized learning plans covering cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Language enrichment includes baby sign language and exposure to Spanish sounds and words. Children also take part in daily yoga, free play, and soccer skills activities. The center provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks in a peanut-free environment. Learning extends beyond the classroom through museum trips and plays, along with visits from storytellers and musicians. Conscious Discipline is used to help children manage emotions and practice self-regulation.
