The Metropolitan Environmental Trust

Based in Tulsa, The Metropolitan Environmental Trust is a governmental trust that supports environmental programs and services with member communities. It operates eight recycling centers across seven communities, providing residential drop-off locations for materials such as cans, bottles, paper, oil, antifreeze, and batteries. The centers also offer some e-waste recycling, with fees applying to certain items. Residents in member communities can access hazardous waste disposal, and the trust hosts special collection events for items such as pollutants, fire extinguishers, and smoke alarms. Educational outreach helps inform the public about environmental responsibility and sound practices. The M.e.t. works with ten local governments to support regulatory-compliant programs that reduce the solid waste stream.
