Spencer's Observatory offers guided tours of the dark skies near Saguaro National Park West. The Oasis at Cat Mountain is a desert retreat on 13 acres of Sonoran landscape outside Tucson, with lodge rooms, inn rooms and suites, casitas, and Tucson homes. Hacienda-style courtyards and wraparound porches are part of the property, while the casitas include full kitchens. The grounds feature native plants and local art, along with rainwater harvesting, greywater irrigation, and light-pollution standards. The retreat grew from Cat Mountain Lodge, started in 2010 to bring Southwest heritage and eco-minded construction together. Stargazing tours are available by appointment year-round and open to the public; guests receive discounted rates. Pets are welcome.
