Eating disorder support
Peer counseling focused on eating disorder recovery.
Peer counseling supports recovery from eating disorders. Sessions are available in person or online and focus on anorexia, binge eating, bulimia through compulsive exercise, and eating disorders related to competitive athletics, distance running, or loss of sport after injury. The counselor draws on personal recovery experience and a background as a Division I collegiate distance runner, along with a psychology degree and Washington peer counseling certification. An initial 40-minute consultation takes place by phone or video chat to assess whether the peer counseling relationship is workable. Ongoing sessions last 50 minutes and can be arranged weekly, twice weekly, or every other week. In-person sessions are available in Seattle.
