Refugee assistance
Supports Arabic-speaking refugees and other refugees.
Founded in 1989 as the Arab American Congress of Silicon Valley, the organization began as a group of mainly immigrant Arabs working to foster Arab-American social, cultural, and civic engagement in Santa Clara County. Its cultural center became a nonprofit in 1996 and independent in June 2004. Since 2016, the AMAAN Team has supported Arabic-speaking and other refugees. Support includes direct financial assistance and cars for families with critical transportation needs. AMAAN also connects families with community resources for social and emotional support. Its work centers on assistance for refugees and Arab-American community engagement in Silicon Valley.
