Speech and language therapy is offered to children and adults. Services include articulation and language therapy for children, voice and fluency therapy for adults, and therapy following stroke or head injury. Auditory-Verbal Therapy supports people with cochlear or hybrid hearing implants. The practice also provides tongue thrust therapy and SpeechEasy evaluations and fittings for individuals who stutter. Animal Assisted Interventions incorporate facility dog Makena. Mellisa Essenburg is a speech-language pathologist and myofunctional therapist with additional training in these specialties and the UCLA PEERS Social Skills program. She works with adolescents in the public school system and sees clients of all ages in her private practice in San Diego. The practice is currently not accepting new clients.
