Lesion treatment
MRI helps physicians identify bone marrow lesions.
The iO-Core procedure treats joint pain by addressing bone marrow lesions and cartilage damage. Physicians use MRI imaging to identify lesions, then decompress them with a specialized instrument and fill the space with a tissue graft. The procedure also uses the patient's extracted bone marrow-derived stem cells around the lesion and on the joint's cartilage. It is an outpatient, minimally invasive approach intended to restore joint function without major surgery or joint replacement. The procedure targets both surface cartilage and underlying bone damage associated with arthritis. iO-Core is offered in San Diego.
