First Gen Scholars

First Gen Scholars is an educational services organization focused on college access for first-generation, low-income students. It helps students navigate the college admissions process through a robust summer program that supports them in sharing their authentic stories. The program connects scholars with funding and opportunities to pursue college with an emphasis on graduating debt-free. Mentoring comes from a network of first-generation college students and dedicated professionals, who guide scholars through the higher education system. First Gen Scholars also holds events including a college fair, photo days, alumni gatherings, and a winter celebration. Its reported impact includes 527 students accepted to and attending college, $26 million in combined earned scholarships, and 81% of students on track to graduate debt-free.
