Free clothing
New clothes and accessories for referred youth ages 12 to 21.
Referred youth ages 12 to 21 can choose free new clothing at San Antonio Threads. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit serves teens in foster care, those who have aged out of foster care, homeless teens, and other referred or at-risk youth. Shoppers can select complete outfits, shoes, socks, underwear, bras, toiletries, and seasonal items when available. An informed adult from an agency, school, group home, or regional treatment center must refer each teen. Visits are by appointment, with volunteer stylists helping young people find sizes and clothing that suits their preferences. The organization also accepts donations of new clothing and gift cards to help meet shoppers' needs. Its website notes a move to Rolling Oaks Mall in San Antonio.
