Abacus Mental Math

The program provides children with Soroban abacus instruction for arithmetic calculations, progressing from moving physical beads to visualizing an abacus and moving its beads mentally. Training uses reading, listening, spoken numbers, and flash anzan, an exercise involving rapid visual calculation. The curriculum focuses on mental math and arithmetic while practicing memory, focus, and listening skills. Soroban is the specialty. The program describes its approach as whole-brain training, using an imagined abacus to engage visual and logical processes. Abacus Mental Math serves children in San Antonio, and the website also mentions online classes. The listed contact information includes phone support and Spanish-language assistance.
