North Carolinians Home Educators

Parents can find homeschool information, encouragement, and connections to groups and resources across North Carolina. Regional liaisons help families locate local support, while NCHE also shares legislative updates affecting home education and organizes field trips and other activities for homeschool students. The organization advocates for the right to homeschool in the state and offers membership to people who support homeschooling, with a requirement that a household member who homeschools comply with state law. NCHE was founded by parents in 1984 and has developed into a statewide organization serving homeschool families. Its work includes equipping parents, coordinating a nine-region network, and advocating for home education. Based in Raleigh, it serves families across North Carolina.
