Waffle Forest

In Phoenix, Waffle Forest is a natural resource conservation nonprofit focused on restoring land and developing sustainable ecosystems in Arizona and beyond. It plants mature desert trees in grid-patterned forests, including giant sequoias adapted to the Arizona desert. Families and organizations can adopt trees with plaques linked to dedicated webpages. The organization reclaims unused waste land for green spaces and uses TreeTalker remote-sensing technology to monitor water use, soil health, carbon absorption, and tree conditions, with data sent hourly to a secure server. Its Arizona nursery combines horticulture with vertical farming towers, offering tree sales, maintenance, and fresh produce. Atmospheric water generators extract humidity from the air to supply water for forest irrigation.
