About Philadelphia Bee Co.
Since 2012, Philadelphia Bee Co. has produced honey from within city limits. The family-owned beekeeping business offers local varieties, including spotted lanternfly honey and South West Philadelphia Honey Spring. Honey and wax are among its offerings. It also provides chemical-free bee and wasp removals, along with educational programming for young and old. The business grew from founder Don Shump's experience volunteering at a Queens Village community garden, where members made local honey. Philadelphia Bee Co. is based in Philadelphia and sells honey through its shop. Its website also shares recipes that use honey, such as a Philadelphia honey burger. The business serves both honey shoppers and people seeking removal services or beekeeping education.
