GJC Religious School

Religious learning and community activities are part of what visitors find at Germantown Jewish Center, a synagogue in Mount Airy, Philadelphia. Its Koleinu Beit Midrash serves as a hub for lifelong learning, and the center engages members in Jewish study and religious practice. Multiple prayer communities accommodate varied approaches to worship. The congregation also celebrates Jewish holidays and life-cycle events, and holds cultural, social, civic, and interreligious activities. Affiliated with the Conservative movement, it is pluralistic and egalitarian, while welcoming a wide range of Jewish lifestyles and households. Jewish learning is the focus. The center describes its work as sustaining Jewish life in greater Philadelphia and strengthening the Northwest Philadelphia community.
