Freedom Theatre

The King of Love is a theatrical tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., written and produced by Philadelphia hip hop artist Dice Raw. Freedom Theater presents theatrical works, including hip hop dance theater, live performances, and productions that draw on African American history and experience. Its featured shows include The Forgotten Founding Fathers, a dance theatrical odyssey about African American figures from the Revolutionary War through Reconstruction, and Box, about Henry Box Brown. The theater also presents The Last Jimmy, which combines theatrical performances with songs from a concept album about Black male incarceration. Workshops and classes are among the activities associated with its contact information. The historically certified facility in Philadelphia also has spaces available for rental.
