Center for Integrative Vocal Arts (CIVA)

Programs include private vocal instruction and coaching, choral clinics, experiential "Soundings from the Heart" workshops, and improvisational Circle Song gatherings. Offerings are customized for individuals and groups, including singers, teachers, lecturers, choral directors, and choirs. The work centers on vocal expression and helping participants explore and develop an authentic voice through individual study or community singing. CIVA was founded by professional musician and educator Holly Phares, who has nearly 40 years of experience as a singer, voice instructor, vocal coach, and choral director. Her background includes work with school and church choirs, professional ensembles, vocal clinics, and master classes. The organization also created Umbrian Serenades, a summer choral program in Italy. CIVA is based in Philadelphia.
