Heartland Worker Center

The organization promotes workers' rights and provides health and safety training for employers and employees. Its Health and Safety Training Institute helps participants understand workplace regulations and build skills for safer work environments. Civic engagement programs support underrepresented participation in public life, including advocacy on community issues and engagement in the electoral process. Leadership development includes training leaders and organizing core teams to negotiate collective actions addressing concerns in neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities. The center also offers volunteer opportunities. Its work reaches communities across the Omaha metro area and several other Nebraska locations, including Nebraska City, Columbus, Schuyler, Fremont, and West Point.
