About Project for Empty Space
Project for Empty Space presents contemporary art exhibitions and public art projects for creative communities. Its Newark programming includes gallery exhibitions, artist residencies, temporary storefront activations, public sculptures, and large-scale murals. The organization also develops cultural corridors and community engagement initiatives, including Newark Grounds, a walkable area featuring more than 75 consecutive public artworks and dedicated arts and culture spaces. Exhibitions include work by Cycle 9 Artists in Residence Noelle Lorraine Williams and Lina Puerta. Programs extend beyond fixed galleries through initiatives such as the CITY OF CREATORS storefront project and the Body Freedom for Every(body) mobile exhibition. Project for Empty Space operates in Newark, New Jersey, and Chinatown, New York City.
