Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO)

Based in New York City, WEDO is a global women's advocacy organization focused on climate and environmental justice. It connects grassroots leaders and lived experience with global policy processes, while building coalitions that advocate for gender-just climate, environmental, and economic policies. The organization trains and supports feminist advocates, women leaders, and frontline environmental defenders so they can influence political spaces. It also develops tools, tracks progress, and shares accessible data and resources for governments, activists, and advocates. Its work includes initiatives, learning series, advocacy resources, and coalition-building that strengthen collective action and promote care-centered solutions. WEDO has worked for more than 30 years to advance women's leadership in climate and environmental decision-making.
