Studio-based learning
Hands-on training inside a working commercial recording studio.
Hands-on audio engineering training is taught one-on-one inside a professional recording studio. Students learn recording, mixing, mastering, music production, beat making, music theory, signal flow, and microphone technique using studio equipment and software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and Logic Pro. Programs include a six-week audio intensive, a 27-week audio and music production course, a music business course, and a 10-week DJ program that covers beatmatching, transitions, and performance. Instruction takes place in working studios rather than classrooms, including vintage control rooms and Dolby Atmos rooms with 7.1.4 listening environments. Masterclasses cover topics such as dynamic range, vocal editing, production, and immersive audio. The institute is based in New York City.
