Mercy Center

In Mott Haven in the South Bronx, Mercy Center is a community-based center serving women, men and families through education, family, civic, social and economic programs. It offers adult education and workforce development, including job readiness training and career support. Youth programs support children's academic success, while family skills and personal development programs serve individuals and families. Immigration and asylum seeker services help newcomers connect with resources and build community ties. Social services and community education are also part of its programming. Services are delivered through core programs and additional support services designed to address economic stability, education, immigrant support, and family and community well-being. Founded in 1990, the center grew from a volunteer counseling service in a Mott Haven school into a community resource.
