A volunteer-run emergency medical service. Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps provides free ambulance service to Forest Hills residents and responds to 911 calls and community emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Trained volunteer EMTs operate ambulances through a self-dispatch model, with dispatchers coordinating available units and crews in real time. The corps serves Forest Hills, Rego Park, Middle Village, Glendale, Maspeth, Elmhurst, Corona, Kew Gardens, and Richmond Hill in Queens County. Founded in 1971, it also supports volunteer training, ambulance maintenance, and medical equipment through community donations. Emergency calls can be made to (718) 793-7747.
