Urban farm
Grows vegetables, fruits, and herbs in New Orleans.
Fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs grown on site are used by NOCCA's Culinary Arts students in classroom training. Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning lab funded by the NOCCA Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. The Gardens also support lessons in arts, science, humanities, and health education. Public programs include workshops, meetings, and other activities focused on gardening techniques, nutrition, personal well-being, wetlands restoration, and environmental stewardship. Located on historic Homer Plessy Way, where the Faubourg Marigny meets the Bywater, the Gardens provide an outdoor setting for learning and community activities. Proceeds support programs for NOCCA students, faculty, and the community.
