About Glass Half Full
Glass Half Full provides glass recycling through monthly residential pickups, commercial collection programs, event services, and free drop-off hubs in New Orleans. Residential customers receive reusable crates for monthly doorstep collection, while businesses and organizations can arrange full-scale glass pickup. The team also collects glass at festivals and special events, from conventions to weddings. Collected glass is processed into sand and gravel for coastal restoration and other uses, including making new glass. The organization began in New Orleans in 2020 and operates a processing facility on Louisa Street. Its recycling program serves the Gulf South, diverting glass from landfills and turning it into usable materials.
