Environmental justice research, education, and health and safety training for environmental careers are central offerings. The center runs hands-on solar training that prepares graduates to sit for the NABCEP PV exam, and supports community air monitoring to help residents engage with environmental data and accountability. Its projects include environmental justice storytelling for high school students across the Gulf Coast, regional water justice planning, and climate science and advocacy opportunities for HBCU students. The center also shares environmental justice data on pollution burdens and health risks. Founded in 1992 with community environmental groups and universities in the Southern region, it works in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast.
