Sunday food giveaway
Hot meals and produce are provided Sundays, 4 to 5 pm.
In Minneapolis, First Nations Kitchen is an Indigenous-led, Gospel-based community ministry focused on food access and community building. It provides hot meals and produce every Sunday from 4 to 5 pm. Each week, the kitchen prepares 40 to 50 vegan meals and 120 to 140 meat meals, using foods indigenous to the region. The Sunday giveaway is intended for Indigenous people and others who would not otherwise have access to fresh, organic food. Food is presented as a form of medicine, with ancestral foods centered in efforts to address heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity in the community. The ministry also works with organizations and congregations across the Twin Cities, and offers three volunteer shifts for its Sunday giveaway.
