Bridge Builders

A Milwaukee community development organization. Bridge Builders works with residents, local governments, businesses, foundations, churches, and community groups to transform central city neighborhoods. Its work includes property rehabilitation, new construction assistance, property renovation, code enforcement, streetscape improvement, and community gardens. The organization's Reclaim the Block campaign focuses on reclaiming and renovating 20 homes in its target area. Bridge Builders also coordinates Earth Day block cleanups, Serve Days, and block parties. Volunteers can contribute through plumbing, legal counsel, drywalling, fundraising, landscaping, social media, and other activities, with opportunities for individuals, groups, teens, and adults. The organization began revitalization projects in 2017 and seeks to connect block residents with people and organizations supporting neighborhood redevelopment.
