First 8 Memphis

In Memphis, First 8 Memphis is a community organization focused on early childhood education and services for children and families in Shelby County. It works to implement strategies from the county's Early Childhood Education Plan, established in 2015, including home visitation, high-quality childcare, shared services, needs-based Pre-K, and support for early elementary learning. Its Pre-K for All initiative provides access to free public Pre-K for three- and four-year-old children in Memphis and Shelby County. First 8 Memphis also convenes early care and education conferences for educators, leaders, and advocates, and shares reports and community stories about local early learning efforts.
