Forensic interviews
Developmentally appropriate interviews for referred children.
A forensic interviewer listens to referred children using developmentally appropriate, non-leading questions. Harold's House is a nonprofit Children's Advocacy Center serving Angelina, Nacogdoches, and Sabine Counties, with offices in Lufkin and Nacogdoches. Since opening in 2003, it has coordinated a multidisciplinary response to child abuse allegations with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, mental health professionals, and court officials. The center serves children who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse, or witnessed a violent crime, along with their non-offending caregivers. Family advocacy helps caregivers navigate investigation, prosecution, and healing, including information and referrals to community resources. Services also include forensic interviews, a SANE suite, and trauma-focused counseling. The organization reports serving more than 1,400 children each year.
