About Stave & Thief Society
Bourbon education is the focus. The society offers a basic self-guided certification with a digital handbook and online test, as well as Executive Certification through online or in-person programs. Its coursework covers bourbon and spirits, with study and tasting exercises that help participants develop sensory identification skills. Businesses can have an establishment and multiple employees certified, and the society also offers an online member directory and in-person certification. Founded in 2014, Stave & Thief Society describes its program as the official bourbon education course of the Kentucky Distillers Association. It is based in Louisville.
