Contemporary art
Exhibitions explore contemporary culture and art.
Located in Los Angeles, The Brick is a nonprofit visual art space focused on contemporary culture. It presents contemporary art exhibitions in its gallery and public spaces, including newly commissioned artworks and solo projects, as well as thematic group exhibitions and projects with emerging and established artists. The program also includes publications and public programs. Exhibitions contextualize art socially and art historically, and programs are free and designed for the general public. The organization has produced more than 400 projects since its founding as LAXART in 2005. The Brick moved to its current exhibition space, a former recording studio built in 1928, in 2015. Its offerings include temporary exhibitions, such as the scheduled Todd Gray: Church and State presentation.
