Founded in 1935 by twelve Department of Justice employees with $137 and forty-one chartered members, Justice Federal Credit Union serves people who serve or support the justice, law enforcement, and public safety community nationwide. Membership begins with a savings account and a $5 minimum balance. Members can open checking and savings accounts, including Freedom Direct Savings, and choose share or IRA certificates. The credit union also offers auto loans, personal loans, home equity financing, a line of credit, and Visa credit cards. Digital banking tutorials cover common account questions and help members use its digital banking services. Justice Federal has partnered with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association to provide financial solutions and member benefits.
