DMST Atelier

A year-long artist residency offers a free studio, financial support, and a culminating presentation for established artists developing new work alongside community-based projects. Rooted on Washington Boulevard in Mid-City Los Angeles, Currency Exchange grew from DMST Atelier and expands the traditional gallery into a neighborhood resource. Its rotating exhibitions feature emerging and established artists, with work intended to encourage curiosity, dialogue, and exchange between local residents and the contemporary arts community. Programming includes workshops, talks, shared meals, and public events focused on access to art, education, and mutual care. The center also provides a place for neighbors to gather, share experiences, and build relationships. Art is central to its activities, alongside partnerships, outreach, and engagement shaped by neighborhood needs.
