COPE Health Scholars

The programs provide hands-on clinical experience in inpatient and ambulatory settings, where participants support patient care alongside healthcare professionals and rotate through specialty departments. Training is available for high school students through Junior Health Scholars, as well as participants preparing for healthcare careers. Care Navigator Scholars learn about care coordination, health education, and basic clinical services. The organization also offers leadership opportunities, flexible shifts, mentorship, and career exploration in partner clinical settings or hospitals. Intensive Experiences include clinical site visits in Japan, graduate-level lectures, a comparative case study, faculty panels, mentorship, and cultural excursions. Completion certificates are offered. Based in Los Angeles, COPE Health Scholars focuses on experiential learning and preparation for entry-level healthcare roles.
