Art Theatre of Long Beach

Film screenings are the centerpiece of this independent cinema on Retro Row in Long Beach. The program includes current releases, classic movies, double features, and complete series, with some selections presented on rare 16mm prints. Special events bring films together with live music or a shadow cast, while movie trivia nights and conversations with artists and community leaders add other ways to take part. Recurring programs include A Century of Cinema, Art After Dark, and Reel Conversations. The theater also hosts guest speakers and dance parties. Established in 1925, it focuses on independent and local art. Membership provides entry to private events and screenings. Visitors will find it at the corner of 4th and Cherry in Long Beach.
