StoneLion Puppet Theatre

Based in Kansas City, StoneLion Puppet Theater is a professional nonprofit performing arts company that brings puppetry into schools, communities, and other venues rather than operating a traditional theater. Its original, educational shows use marionettes, masks, shadow puppets, mouth puppets, and rod puppets, with performances designed for audiences ranging from small groups to large crowds. The company tours across the Midwest, the United States, and internationally. It also provides arts education through performances and workshops, including free programs for Title One schools. Environmental themes feature in its work, with projects using puppetry to engage audiences in sustainability, biodiversity, health, and climate education. StoneLion also creates and participates in arts events, including the Illuminated Waters festival and Kansas City's Day of the Dead light-up parade.
