About Clay-Platte Montessori School
Founded in 1966, Clay-Platte Montessori School offers authentic Montessori programs for children from 15 months through high school. Its campus has been at its current location since 1974, set on 10 wooded acres with a creek, meadows, and trails. Students explore the natural surroundings as part of the school's Montessori approach, which also embraces indoor-outdoor classrooms. Programs span toddler, primary, elementary, middle, and high school years. Lead Guides hold Montessori diplomas and use their knowledge of classroom materials and child development to match lessons to student needs. The school's enrollment process includes an in-person tour, an application, and steps for completing enrollment. Its stated pillars are peace, inclusion, and responsibility.
