About True North Sailing School
Sailing lessons and ASA certification courses are the core offerings. Beginners can start with ASA 101 aboard keelboats on New York Harbor, then continue with advanced classes such as coastal cruising and coastal navigation. Courses run in small groups, with a stated ratio of four students per instructor. The school also offers sailing club membership, which includes unlimited sailing and opportunities to practice with a crew, join Wednesday night races, and take part in weekend regattas. Instruction is led by instructors certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and American Sailing Association, using J/29 performance sailboats. Classes take place at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, with access to New York Harbor. The school also offers gift cards.
