About The Scandinavian School of Jersey City
Early childhood and elementary education are the core offerings at this full-day Scandinavian school inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach. Programs serve children from age 1 through 6th grade, including preschool classes grouped by age, Forest Pre-K4 with an outdoor education focus, and Forest Kindergarten centered on place-based education. Elementary classes cover 1st through 6th grade. A 10-week summer camp is offered for children ages 1 to 9. The school describes its approach as hands-on and encourages children's independence and discovery. It has two locations in Jersey City: one for its youngest classes and another for older groups, the main office, an atelier, and outdoor space.
