Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation

The federation brings together 95 unions representing 60,000 union members across 13 counties. Based in the Houston region, it coordinates advocacy for working people through labor and community partnerships. Its activities include electing labor champions, coordinating campaigns for stronger workplace protections, and mobilizing members and allies. The affiliated unions represent workers in public service, manufacturing, construction, transportation, hospitality, and other service industries. Founded in 2015 when five labor councils joined, the federation works to amplify unions' voices and build their capacity for collective action. It also coordinates political mobilization across the region and maintains relationships with community and progressive groups. Its jurisdiction includes Harris County and 12 other Gulf Coast counties.
